Caught on a Webcam…
A couple of months ago, I bought a Microsoft LifeCam NX-6000 when I was visiting the US. I wanted to use it with my HP notebook at work and communication with friends and co-workers. Due to a lot of different reasons, none of them very good, I just never got around to installing the software and setting up my new webcam. Well, today we had a conference call with all of the global Enthusiast Evangelists at Microsoft (there are around 20 of us worldwide) and we were asked to use our webcams. Finally! I had a good excuse to get things going.
Unfortunately, the CD with the software didn’t survive the trip back from the US very well and was slightly bent, so had to go online to get the software for my NX-6000. Wasn’t too difficult. I found it under…

After installing everything and successfully getting it set up, I had some fun playing around with the different features and doing a video chat with a friend via Windows Live Messenger. (See photo above.) After that fun I was ready for the work conference call. While the call was interesting, I apparently didn’t always look very interested. My counterpart in the UK sent me this photo that he captured of me during the call and told me I need to smile more. Not sure what I was thinking at this particular point in time, but whatever it was, I don’t think I was very excited about the idea. Note to self: Try not to make so many funny faces while taking part in a webcam conference call.
