Wordcamp 2008 » The Wordpress Conference in Hamburg :: January 2008
I’m in Hamburg right now for Wordcamp ‘08. Word Camp ‘08 is a 2 day WordPress conference for German speaking users and developers. WordPress is a Weblog system to publish your own personal entries. It is based on PHP and MySQL and is free. WordCamp follows the traditions of BarCamps and in general the Open Space concept.
The event is located at Stilwerk, which is across the street from where I used to work when I lived in Hamburg. Stilwerk is a very cool place and definitely a different location for a Wordcamp/BarCamp. (Stilwerk is located where the push pin is on the map.)
Microsoft Expression is a sponsor for WordCamp and later today I’m going to give a session about the following topics:
- Windows Live Writer makes blogging and publishing to a blog super-easy
- Add something new, creative and exciting to your blog with a Popfly mashup
I’ll write some additional blog entries about these subjects during the next couple of days. Or if time permits, maybe even make a video about them. Here are a few photos from the event…
